1. Who we are

This website is operated by Comet Welding Ltd., operating as CW Fab Worx ("CW Fab Worx," "we," "us," or "our"), 5604 Len Thompson Drive, Lacombe, AB T4L 1E7, Canada. We are the organization responsible for the personal information collected through this site. To reach our Privacy Officer, see Section 12.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers personal information we collect through cwfabworx.ca, including our warranty registration, request-a-quote, become-a-dealer, and contact forms, and information your browser sends automatically when you visit. It does not cover information collected by third-party websites we link to, or business dealings you conduct with us offline (which are handled under our general business practices).

3. What personal information we collect

We only collect the information we need to respond to you and to provide our products and services. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:

• Contact details — your name, business or dealership name, email address, phone number, and the town/region or address you provide.
• Warranty registration details — the tank serial number, purchase and installation dates, who installed the tank and the installing dealer, the vehicle the tank was installed in (year, make, model, and box or deck length), and any notes you add.
• Files you upload — proof of purchase and photographs of your installation, which may show your equipment, vehicle, and property.
• Quote and dealer-application details — the products, quantities, configurations, and business information you tell us about.
• Messages — the content of any message you send us through a form.
• Technical information — standard web-server and security log data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. Our hosting provider processes this to deliver and protect the site.

Please provide only the information requested. Do not send us sensitive personal information (for example, government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or health information) through these forms — we do not need it.

4. Why we collect it and how we use it

We collect and use your personal information for the following purposes:

• To register your product, activate and administer your Limited Warranty, verify your tank, and process any warranty claim or coverage transfer.
• To respond to your quote request, dealer application, or general inquiry, and to prepare quotes and follow up with you.
• To provide, support, and improve our products and services, and to communicate with you about your registration, order, or request.
• To keep records required for our legitimate business and warranty purposes.
• To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website and prevent fraud and abuse.
• To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. If we ever wish to use your information for a materially new purpose, we will ask for your consent first.

Vehicle and fit information. We use the vehicle details you give us at registration to build a general fitment guide — which tank sizes suit which trucks. That guide is published in aggregate only and never identifies you, your vehicle, or your registration.

Photos in our marketing — only if you say yes. By default, the photos you upload are used only to verify and administer your warranty. On the registration form you may separately and optionally check a box giving us permission to use your install photos in our marketing — on this website, our social media, and in print or advertising — with cropping or light editing. We will not publish your name or personal details alongside them unless we ask you first. This permission is entirely optional, is never a condition of warranty coverage, and you may withdraw it at any time by emailing contact@cwfabworx.ca; we will stop using the photos going forward, though we may not be able to recall materials already printed or distributed.

5. Consent

By submitting a form on this site, you consent to our collecting, using, and disclosing the personal information in it for the purposes described in this policy. Where we can reasonably do so, we will make the purpose clear at the point of collection. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 11), subject to legal or contractual limits and reasonable notice — for example, we may need to retain certain information to administer an active warranty.

6. When we disclose information

We disclose personal information only as needed for the purposes above, and only to:

• Service providers that operate the site and our systems on our behalf — including our website hosting and data-storage provider (Cloudflare, Inc.) and the systems we use to receive form submissions, store warranty records and uploaded files, and manage customer and sales records. These providers may only use the information to perform services for us and are required to protect it.
• Authorized dealers, where necessary to service your warranty registration, dealer relationship, or quote (for example, coordinating with the dealer who installed your tank).
• Professional advisors (such as legal or accounting advisors) where reasonably required.
• Authorities or other parties where required or permitted by law, to comply with a legal process, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
• A successor in the event of a sale, merger, or reorganization of our business, subject to appropriate protections.

7. Storage and processing outside Canada

Our website and data-storage provider operates a global network, so your personal information may be stored or processed on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is outside Canada, your information is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, and foreign courts, governments, or agencies may in certain circumstances be able to access it under those laws. We take reasonable steps to require our service providers to protect your information to a standard comparable to this policy. If you have questions about our cross-border handling of personal information, contact our Privacy Officer (Section 12).

8. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to meet our legal, warranty, and business record-keeping needs. Warranty registration records and their supporting files are generally retained for the life of the warranty plus a reasonable period afterward so we can administer claims and transfers. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy, erase, or anonymize it.

9. How we protect it

We use reasonable physical, organizational, and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information to protect it against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Form submissions and file uploads are transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to stored information is limited to people who need it to do their work. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately if an incident occurs.

10. Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. Our hosting provider may set essential cookies or keep security logs needed to operate and protect the site. Most browsers let you control or block cookies through their settings; blocking essential cookies may affect how the site works.

11. Your rights: access, correction, and withdrawal

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to ask us whether we hold personal information about you, to access that information, and to request that we correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete. You may also withdraw your consent to our continued use of your information, subject to legal or contractual limitations and reasonable notice. To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer (Section 12). We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. If we cannot fulfill a request, we will explain why. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

13. Children

This site is intended for a business and adult audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the version number and effective date above and post the revised policy on this page. Material changes take effect when posted. Please review this page periodically.
